Young Athletes is a program through the Special Olympics for your children ages 2-7 years old.  The main function of Young Athletes is to get all children involved in sports and play, and educating children and families that all children have talents and abilities.  While Young Athletes can be used as a schoolwide or after school program, it also has a wide range of materials, resources, and ideas for families and caregivers.  There are printed and video resources in multiple languages, all available free of cost. One example of a resource provided through Young Athletes is the link to “Young Athletes at Home” which offers resources and activities to encourage play at home.  This link includes Family Flashcards which give the directions for several games and activities families can play together.  The accessibility of this website is vast, with an accessibility menu for a wide range of needs in addition to the ability to translate the website into 43 different languages.  This site is equally accessible via desktop and mobile devices.
